I’m deeply passionate about Personal productivity and Personal Knowledge Management (PKM) through self-paced learning. Hence, in addition to books, you will also find articles on topics related to personal productivity, self-learning, and PKM in general.
You might wonder why I place such a strong emphasis on reading. My journey in the corporate world, which began in the last years of the 20th century, a period marked by rapid economic and technological changes, partly explains this. Over three decades in various management roles, I’ve seen significant shifts in business paradigms, the rise and fall of corporate giants, and evolving leadership styles. Throughout these changes, one constant has been – “effective leaders are invariably great readers”.
Reading for me is much more than just acquiring knowledge; it’s about broadening one’s thinking, challenging existing beliefs, and developing a wealth of new ideas and strategies. It involves learning from the experiences of others, their successes and failures, and using that knowledge to forge your own path to success.
My personal journey with reading began as a necessity to keep up with the fast-paced changes in the business world. It quickly became a guiding tool, helping me navigate the complexities of leadership and management. From the strategic insights of Sun Tzu in ‘The Art of War’ and several other books till date, have, not just expanded my knowledge but have significantly influenced my thinking, from management to personal well being in general.
Through this blog, my goal is to share the wisdom and thought-provoking ideas from these books, which have significantly influenced management thinking and continue to hold a great promise for shaping the future.
As Nitin Seth, the author of “Winning in the Digital Age”, a National best Seller, says – “while deep industry specific context and insight is of course important, I believe there is a lot of value in observing patterns from other industries and trying to develop foresight how they may impact your business”
This thought resonates with my belief that our personal and professional lives are no different than Industry. A tapestry of learning from everything around us, from people to places. Here’s where “Books act as catalysts, igniting the endless journey of continuous learning.”
Enjoy the journey with me..!
